How to pick the right level

Each track can be run at three depths: fundamentals, intermediate, and professional workflow. When you contact us, mention your camera model and a typical brief (headshots, SKUs, or a brand session). We will suggest the right starting point and what to practice before the first session.

Where courses run

Sessions are hosted in Haarlem and may include location exercises elsewhere in the Netherlands when a module benefits from real environments (window light, street portrait, or brand-style sets). Details are shared in advance for each cohort.

Course tracks

Tracks are structured as practical sessions plus assignments with review. The focus is methodical decision-making: exposure, light placement, subject direction, and delivery discipline. If you are booking for a team, we can adapt the brief to match typical work in the Netherlands.

Portrait Photography

A practical portrait track covering posing cues, lens choice, and light direction that flatters without over-editing. You will practice a repeatable headshot workflow (background, key/fill ratio, catchlights) and a simple on-location approach for small brand sessions. Critique is anchored to concrete points: expression timing, crop consistency, and skin tone control.

Typical deliverables mirror common Netherlands client needs: consistent crops for staff pages, natural color, and reliable exports for web and print. Assignments are designed to build a small set you can show as a coherent series.

Product Photography

Learn to control reflections, edge definition, and background consistency for catalogs and e-commerce. The track focuses on tabletop setups you can recreate: modifier choice, flagging, and distance to manage specular highlights. You will practice angle consistency across sets and build a shot list for faster execution.

Studio Lighting

A lighting-first track that teaches a reliable build order: key, fill, background, and separation. You will measure distance and angle like a craftsperson, not by guessing. Exercises include soft versus hard light, modifier behavior, and quick troubleshooting when a set feels “flat.”

Editing and Delivery Workflow

This track focuses on what clients feel immediately: consistency. You will build a pipeline for culling, global adjustments, selective corrections, and export presets that keep output predictable. We cover color space choices, sharpening strategy, and a proofing rhythm that prevents endless revision loops.

The deliverables checklist is tailored to common Netherlands requests: web-ready sRGB exports, print variants when needed, clean file naming, and practical archiving so you can find a job months later without rummaging.

Camera Control Bootcamp

A structured fundamentals sprint to eliminate slow, uncertain exposure choices. You will practice metering, safe baseline settings, and quick correction habits for changing light—useful for events, portraits, and location brand work across the Netherlands.

How a course is delivered

Each track follows the same delivery pattern so you know what you are paying for: practical time behind the camera, specific critique, and homework that connects directly to the next session. The aim is a repeatable workflow, not a pile of tips. We keep the structure stable and adjust only the brief: a portrait set, a product series, or a lighting diagram you can recreate.

Courses run as small-group cohorts (typically 6–10). That size is deliberate: it leaves room for corrections on set—light height, modifier distance, crop consistency—without turning critique into vague opinions. When the schedule includes locations outside Haarlem, travel notes are shared in advance, and the learning outcome remains the same: you should be able to reproduce the setup in your own work anywhere in the Netherlands.
